The Many Foes of Spider-Man - Morbius

He wants to suck your blood. He's Morbius

Morbius first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #101 (Oct, 1971), in which he was attacked by the Lizard and defeated when Spider-Man and the Lizard joined forces. A flashback in Amazing Spider-Man #102 revealed that Morbius was actually a Nobel prize-winning biochemist, who had attempted to cure himself of a rare blood disease with an experimental treatment involving vampire bats and electroshock therapy. However, he instead became afflicted with a far worse condition that mimicked the powers and bloodthirst of legendary vampirism.

Morbius now had to digest blood in order to survive and had a strong aversion to light. He gained the ability to fly, as well as superhuman strength and healing abilities. His appearance became hideous—his canine teeth extended into fangs, his nose flattened to appear more like a bat's, and his skin became chalk-white. He also gained the ability to turn others into similar "living vampires" by biting them. Though he managed at one point to cure himself of his pseudo-vampirism, he eventually reverted back to his altered form.

So...he doesn't like the light, drinks blood, flies, can create others like himself, looks like a bat, but he's only a pseudo-vampire? Whats the difference?

well, i would call him a vampire, but i guess the difference is that he technically only has a disease mimicking vampirism, not actual vampirism. He probably still has a refelction, doesnt mind crosses or garlic, and could be killed without a stake to the heart... but those are just guesses.

Aha. All good points. Thanks for the clarification.
