Radar Blips - Jason and the Argonauts

The Year: 1963

The Players: A Ray Harryhausen film

The Take: $?

What's an Argonauts?: Argonauts are like Astronauts, except instead of riding on an astro, they are riding on a ship named the Argo. They happen to be on a quest for the golden fleece, and the surprisingly inept Hercules (though he should be called Haracles) is one of them.

Why you should see it: According to Tom Hanks, this is the greatest movie ever made. If that ain't enough reason... Just kidding, Hanks is sort of an idiot, but this is a great movie. Its got amazing sequences including a stop motion bronze giant, a hydra, and a famous skeleton army. These sequences have stood the test of time. Seeing movies like this and Clash of the Titans makes me wonder why they don't make a modern version of the Odyssey or other Greek classics.

They sure made an exciting trailer for it! There's a made-for-TV movie of The Odyssey (http://imdb.com/title/tt0118414/)that I thought was half-decent. If you haven't seen it, it really is worth the viewing. Quite a few stars in it too.
