Actuals: Spider-Man 3 Keeps on Swingin'

After smashing records last weekend, Spidey lost a considerable amount of steam during the "still in school" weekdays. By week's end, Peter Parker had failed to capture the opening week record, leaving Captain Jack with a shred of dignity. Still, with little new competition, Spider-Man webbed up a $60 million box office win - the 4th biggest second weekend of all time.

Next weekend, Shrek the Third will take a big box office bite. I don't expect him to break records, but it should be an impressive debut nonetheless. It will be interesting to see how Spider-Man fairs against an ogre.

Current Rankings:

#6 The Ex - $1,394,229 (-.-%)*
#5 Delta Farce - $3,420,645 (-.-%)*
#4 Lucky You - $4,818,316 (-.-%)*
#3 Georgia Rule - $6,773,870 (-.-%)*
#2 28 Weeks Later - $9,807,292 (-.-%)*
#1 Spider-Man 3 - 240,236,828 (63.2%)*

I think "Transformers" might do a little better than your prediction. At least +$250 mil.
'fingers crossed'
