Will the Next Spidey Villain Please Stand Up

If you have been frequenting this site, you know that Spider-Man has many foes. The question is, which of them will be crashing the party during the inevitable Spider-Man 4? Freezedriedmovies.com claims to have exclusive news. Keep in mind, these sort of exclusives are going to be a dime a dozen until an official announcement is made. I seem to recall news that Spidey would face Chameleon and Man-Wolf in part 3. Guess that turned out to be wrong.

Anyhow, this "insider" claims that we will be seeing The Lizard, Carnage, and the Black Cat. The Lizard is really a no brainer. Curt Conners has been mentioned in all three films so far, and has had decent roles in the past two. His transformation into the Lizard is due, and I hope he becomes the main villain for part 4.

As for Carnage, I can see him appearing now that Venom has been used up. Carnage ups the ante a bit, and is fairly popular with the fans. Maybe a better fit would be Kraven showing up to hunt the Lizard and Spidey... But maybe that plot is too predictable. Carnage doesn't need a lot of back story, if he shows up, I hope he is just a homicidal maniac. I would much prefer him being a wild card than a goon to another character.

The Black Cat could show up, but I hope is she does appear it is just a small introductory part that plays out more in the planned parts 5 and 6. Why not use Gwen and Betty Brant a little better rather than introducing yet another romantic interest? Besides, the Catwoman movie was so bad, I would think they would want to avoid any possible comparisons.

In closing, if there are 3 more Spider-Men coming, I hope to see The Lizard, Carnage, and Kraven at some point. What I would really like to see if the baddies weren't all dead is a take on the Sinister Six, but that seems unlikely.

Who would you all like to see in Spidey 4? Comments are welcome!

I like the Lizard, but not really keen on Carnage. He's a vicious serial killer in the comics, and he literally rips people apart. I can't see them doing any justice to Carnage in a PG-13 film.
I'd like them to stick with the original villains, like Electro, Kraven & Mysterio.

Spidey has so many villains in the comic books, i'm surprised that the filmmakers havn't slipped in any cameos just to please the fans.

The Lizard has to be coming. I've never been a huge fan of that villain, but by now, Spidey fans (and Dylan Baker) deserve that payoff.

I'd personally love to see Electro and the Rhino (both have a hard time standing alone though.) But as the films seem to want to take effects and action to the next level each time, you might get something new with Spider Slayers. Although themselves they are kind of uninteresting, mesh them with an Electro or Kraven and add a twist of Chameleon, who reveals himself in the end (not his true identity, though) and you might have something interesting.

I could take or leave Carnage. Funny which characters you mention wanting in subsequent Spidey flicks. I actually have an outline for a "fantasy" Spidey 4 where the remaining piece of the black symbiote (left with Curt Connors) gets loose, spawns Carnage, and finds a new host. Kletus Cassidy becomes Carnage, but the new black symbiote host clashes with him and you get a major symbiote vs symbiote fight. Meanwhile, Kraven the Hunter is brought in to take them down. But Kraven also wants the "real" Spider-man.

Oh, forgot to mention that while spidey tried to elude death from Carnage and Kraven, he's also fending off attacks from Lizard in an attempt to help bring his freidn Dr. Connors back to his human form. And of course, Kraven wants a piece of the giant reptile, too. (Gee, you'd think I have way too much time on my hands or something...)

I would watch your movie!

I would also like to see the Rhino eventually. Why not introduce him in a Bond style precredits sequence. That way he wouldnt have to carry a movie, but could start the movie off with a little treat for the fans and some good action.

The Lizard I'm fine with, but why the hell did they include "Carnage" and "Black Cat"? They have no significantly interesting storylines worth telling. If thye had to bring in a "symbiote villian" revive back vneom, he's wayy better than carnage. honestly it should rather be Kraven The Hunter in the 4th if they do one. Mysterio is another possibility, considering Bruce has been in all three films.

those villain choices suck... The only villain from that list that ABSOLUTLEY HAS TO BE in SM4 is The Lizard. Following along with Kraven the Hunter, and Mysterio.

*SPOILERS*

... if Venom escaped that blast in the end of SM3, then he could be another possiblity for SM4, and could put Carnage in as well. But I dislike Carnage alot.

I vote for the Lizard, also because it's completely in line with Dylan Baker being a presence in the last two movies, (and mentioned in the first). Venom wouldn't be a bad return, and Kraven would fit.

It would be nice to see Mysterio, maybe have him open the movie and get whomped. Gets us a (hopeful) Bruce Campbell appearance and starts the movie by telling us it's going to be a Spider-Man movie, not a Peter Parker movie. A fun plot for 4 would be Electro and Scorpion. Find a way to tie Electro into JJ's creation of the scorpion. And please, if Carnage is ever used, let it be in a Venom movie. He's Primarily a Venom villain and has no character motivation or place in a PG-13 movie, make a darker, Venomy movie.

Spider-Man movies were such a hit because the characters used can be easily related to by the viewers. The Lizard can be an interesting focal point of the story, just like that of the Green Goblin, Doc Ock and Venom and Sandman. Spidey has to have an "easy-to-relate-with" main villain of sustainable human interest. I'd like to see The Scorpion and the Rhino as supporting villains, if not Electro or The Shocker.
