No Amount of Mummies Can Overtake Batman

Amazingly, The Dark Knight has won its third straight weekend, this time holding of the Mummy 3, Yetis and all. Adding another $44 million to the bat-bank, $400 million will be conquered as early as tomorrow, putting the Dark Knight in an elite class with only 7 other movies. $500 million looks certain now though its going to be a little slower going. The Mummy's $42.5 million take was pretty impressive considering its horrible reviews (10% on Rotten Tomatoes), but look for the film to fizzle out without much of a bang.

Hancock has claimed the #4 spot, karate choppin Kung Fu Panda. I think from now on Will Smith should just title his films The Will Smith Movie -Part X, because the people love him no matter who he plays.

Wall-E has busted through the $200 million mark. More significantly, he looks to pass up total earning of Ratatouille, reversing the downward earning trend that began back with The Incredibles.

Speaking of Incredible. Could it be that The Incredible Hulk has hung on for yet another week. Way to Smash it up Hulkster!

Next weekend bring Pineapple Express and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. Since they both open on Wednesday, The Dark Knight just might make it 4 straight.
